Fish fingers are a treat. Everyone likes them. EVERYONE. From 3 year olds who don’t understand what a fish is (I was a very dumb child), to old fatties like me who can’t be bothered to cook fish to begin with.
So it’s always a treat when a stall like Shoal Food, whose pun-tastic name already commands attention, makes a pretty little sandwich with, you guessed it, fish fingers. Two perfectly fried Cod fingers, coupled with some butter made of peas (hey, it tastes good, so beat it), rocket, dressing and herbs tartar, make for one healthy sandwich.
And when you have a sandwich that a 3 year old would enjoy THAT INCLUDES something called pea butter, you know you’ve got a winner. Give peas a chance.
Slimy? It’s strange to eat fish fingers and not, you know, hold the fingers with your hands
Satisfying? As good for a toddler as for a foodie adult such as myself
